Publishing in Open Access
Transformative agreements
Transformative agreements are intended to enable the transition of scientific literature towards Open Access. They are signed between institutions or consortia and the major international commercial publishers.
How do they work?
They include costs to access the contents (Read), as well as open access publication costs (Publish) in hybrid journals, for a specified number of articles per year (voucher / token).
Thanks to the transformative agreements, the authors affiliated to an institution can publish in open access without additional costs (APC - Article Processing Charges) under a Creative Commons license (generally CC-BY).
Who can publish via transformative agreements?
Only the corresponding author affiliated with Bocconi University is eligible to publish under transformative agreements.
Once the request has been submitted, how does the process work?
The Library will verify the author affiliation and will validate the request for open access publication, according to the procedure established by each individual publisher on its publishing platform.
