End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
The number of undernourished people in the world has declined by nearly half in the past two decades due to rapid economic growth and increased agricultural productivity, yet extreme hunger and malnutrition remain a huge barrier to development in many countries.
This goal aims to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030, ensuring that all people - especially children - have enough nutritious food all year round. This involves promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting smallholder farmers and providing equal access to land, technology and markets. It also requires international cooperation to ensure investment in infrastructure and technology to improve agricultural productivity.
