Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
The entire world is experiencing the drastic effects of climate change. Global warming is causing
long-lasting changes to our climate system, with the threat of irreversible consequences if action is
not taken now. In addition to economic losses, these changes also have a dramatic impact in terms of loss of life.
This goal
aims to promote actions, at all levels, to combat climate change: investing in low-carbon development,
supporting the most vulnerable regions of the world and limiting the increase in global average temperature
to 2°C above pre-industrial levels, aiming at 1.5°C, also with the support of technological innovations.
This will only be possible through urgent and ambitious collective action, driven by strong political will,
going hand in hand with efforts to integrate disaster risk measures, sustainable natural resource management
and human security into national development strategies.
