Copyright: general information

  1. What is copyright?
Copyright is a group of laws governing the use of artistic and technical works in all their various forms, to protect the financial interests and protect the intellectual property of the authors.

Copyright, in all its complex forms in various legal traditions, has proved very difficult to interpret and apply. Despite the changes to domestic and EU law in recent years, there are severe limitations in the personal of works, their reproduction, and their being made available to users by libraries etc.
